UKIP will soon cease to exist. It was always pretty obvious that the Brexit referendum would lead to the breakup of the UKIP - regardless of the result. But a win for Brexit makes UKIP particularly pointless. Same thing would happen to the SNP if the nationalists ever win an independence referendum. There is no reason for them to exist and nothing to keep them united.

Agree, not certain that we need UKIP anymore.
I have voted for them as I am opposed to remaining in the EU, and I felt that voting UKIP was a good way of expressing that view.

Now that we have held a referendum, and voted to leave the EU, it could be argued that UKIP are obsolete.

In the event that we do not actually fully leave in a timely fashion, then I forecast a great upsurge in support for UKIP, but not otherwise.

UKIP aren't redundant until we are actually out of the EU. I can see Labour losing a lot of seats to UKIP if we're not out before the next election. labour calling for a general election now is like turkeys calling for Christmas early!

I didn't realise at first that it was one of his "colleagues" who did it.
With friends like that! Presumably the offender will be charged and tried after a psychiatric assessment.

Oh boy. This is some implosion. They really should just disband UKIP.

The MEP who clocked him is called Mike Hookem - you couldn't make that up!

Although rumours are that Woolfe started it, which may mean he doesn't bring charges.

Hookem is a Hull working class lad, sort of reminds me of ex deputy PM John Prescott.
