Come sun or high wind, InHabitat reported on Friday that Scientists from the University of Liverpool have created the world’s first solar-power wind turbines. The team, led by Dr. Joe King simply installed new sets of spinning solar blades onto the existing infrastructure of traditional wind turbines.

Of course the idea is ridiculous. Wind direction and sun position are completely independent variables.

There was a rather good one in our local rag about a water-powered ferris-wheel in the river. It had me going for a minute :oops:
