Gas supply seems to be handling cold snap

From http://www.nationalgrid.com/uk/Gas/Data/dsr/ it would seem that our gas supplies have plenty of headroom despite the cold snap.

The electricity demand this Thursday eveing is the highest in the last 8 days ... but I'm not sure how much reserve generator capacity we have.

I'm not sure that 19 mcm short of a Gas Balancing Alert is a lot of head room, after all it's not that cold today, about -1 deg C in Cambridge.
I notice that there have been 'permissable' gas interruptions in Scotland
for several days in the last couple of weeks.

It is very noticeable (or would be if the nantional grid kept their
graphs up to date ) that demand is higher than predicted for a given
temperature.

I suspect that we could get up to about 500 mcm/day if we were forced
to, for a few days, provided that Europe wasn't in the deep freeze at the
same time...

I'm wondering how's Scotland's electricity supply after that conveyor
collapse.
