Unexplained/unexpected ocean warming.
Is said to be of considerable concern https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-65339934
"Installers and owners of emergency diesels must assume that they will have to run for a week or more"

Ha, they actually mentioned the reduction in pollution from shipping! This has been a really significant thing but so far largely ignored by mainstream science and media alike.

Recent, rapid ocean warming ahead of El Niño alarms scientists
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-65339934
A recent, rapid heating of the world's oceans has alarmed scientists concerned that it will add to global warming.
This month, the global sea surface hit a new record high temperature. It has never warmed this much, this quickly.
Scientists don't fully understand why this has happened.
But they worry that, combined with other weather events, the world's temperature could reach a concerning new level by the end of next year.
We must deal with reality or it will deal with us.

The ongoing theme seems to be 'worse than we thought, we don't know why...', I've been reading variations of this for 5 years.

Considerable concern? Sounds worrying. Not near as bad as the claimed consequences of the peak oils of the early 21st century, but still...considerable concern. I find it interesting, not the soft peddling of the consequences of the massive biosphere pollution humans do, but the psychology of convincing oneself to not believe in something that becomes obvious through data, or believe something that obviously wasn't happening as claimed, all those years ago now.adam2 wrote: ↑25 Apr 2023, 19:10 Is said to be of considerable concern https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-65339934
People believe what they wish, facts, data, science, logic be damned. Faith based belief is what most humans do regardless.
