I recall reading from somewhere or other, in 1990s Russia an old couple would be sitting down in the evening watching TV when someone would break down the door of their apartment and quite gently carry them out the door and deposit them in the corridor informing them that their apartment no longer belonged to them.
A Russian in New Zealand told me that a friend's father had to sell three fishing boats to the mafia for $1.
I first heard someone using that phase 'hyper capitalism' last night. I am not sure Truss is Yegor Gaidar at the moment but the truth is that the UK has been for sale to the highest bidder for quite a long time.
