The storm approaching

How will oil depletion affect the way we live? What will the economic impact be? How will agriculture change? Will we thrive or merely survive?

The storm approaching

Post by kenneal - lagger »

This 20 minute video of a Canadian academic, Dr William E Rees, Professor Emeritus at the University of British Columbia and former director of the School of Community and Regional Planning at UBC, questioning the thinking behind current economics and its addiction to growth is very listenable and essential for us in developing a way forward. He is another person who understands the ludicrousness of exponential growth in a finite environment.

Interesting that Mark Carney has also just released a book:

By all accounts, a good read....
But why didn't he do more when Governor of the BoE...... ?

Probably, but somebody has to be brave and actually make the changes at some point.....
Rather than just writing about it....

Just watched that Ken, very good.

For the first tine since 1992, thanks to lockdown/pandemic, 2021 is looking like we will be self sufficient in veg/fruit production again.

It is quite sobering to realise that the future is going to be a lot more tumultuous than the past.
