Terror watch

Post by Lord Beria3 »

Not quite sure why we don't have a active terrorism thread but thought it would be sensible to get one set-up.

Latest terror attack with gunmen killing people in Munich, Germany however their reasons are unknown as yet.

A number of people have reportedly been killed after shots were fired at a shopping centre in Munich - amid reports police are hunting more than one gunman.

One of the reasons could be we don't know for a considerable time after any incident what the facts are behind it. I think having a topic with a title such as this just fuels the hysteria. It's a bad move IMO. We have had had topics recently with a lot of speculation which has proved unfounded in the end. The subject may not have been terrorism, but it demonstrates speculation can get in the way of the truth.

We DO have a rather similar thread entitled "jihad watch" This may be found in the off topic forum.
Discussions may be continued there if desired. But please stay at least a bit polite and avoid insults etc.
It is reasonable to speculate on suspected jihad attacks, in a reasonably informed way, but no needless ranting please.
And yes I am well aware that not all terrorism is jihad, but much of the present terrorism IS jihad related.
If we get a significant outbreak of NON jihad terrorism then a dedicated thread might be acceptable but no such is needed at present.
This thread is therefore locked.
