The first snow accumulation of the year fell overnight. Just a couple of inches here but the coast got walloped from New York to Maine with a million people losing electric power. Leaves were still on the trees in southern areas so snow loads brought down a lot of limbs. The New York stations are all abuzz about the new record early snowfall for NY but snow for Halloween is not unprecedented here in VT.
I'm sure the debate will go round again on the storm being evidence against global warming or evidence for increased intensity and variability due to global warming. I'll skip it this time and just get down my snow shovel.
