[OT]: Steen going on about his big house ...

What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

The work included paying a forestry expert to inspect trees.
Obviously very praiseworthy to do this, but not necessary to performing the job of an MP. So, it ought to come out of his pocket,

The interview has just been repeated by popular demand on the PM programme! While I agree that the expenses issue is small compared to the other problems that face us, if arseholes like him are running the country, they need to be got rid of ASAP if we're to stand any chance of dealing with the really important issues.

He was our local MP when I lived here 25 years ago and was probably going to depart fairly soon anyway. He always was a loose cannon politically, never one to stay on message. His political ideas were always pretty potty too, from memory.

My mum recons they should all live in tied houses and be paid a simple stipend. I'm inclined to agree. The said houses can be as posh as you like, and include all necessary security measures: they'd be a one-off expense.

A block of flats next to the Houses of Parliament would do it.

Can't see the problem myself.
