No a ninety year old not in a nursing home and without a comorbidity has a much higher chance of surviving Covid then the already sick nursing home patient. Their chances are not as good as a healthy twenty year old of course but they will not be "dropping like flies. "
"...not as good..."

Actually 630 times worse for the age group as a whole, and undoubtedly still much, much worse for even the healthiest.

I'm aware that a frail and sick 90yr old will fare worse than a healthy, sprightly 90yr old, it's pretty obvious.

No again you are not recognizing the critical factor. that 630 figure is for all 85+ which includes all those in nursing homes.

Are we writing in a different language ? I wrote that it is 630 times worse for the age group as a whole, and still much worse for the healthiest portion.

Well, it feels fine, but thanks for your concern. Must dash, got some peasants to oppress.
You are one of the peasants Catweazle. You tragedy is you think your interests are allied with the people who own the peasants.

Oh, I didn't say you had any conscious understanding of it. In fact, quite the opposite.

Meanwhile back on the planet, on the BBC News a doctor in the NHS in the north west said that local hospitals were already as full as they were back in April and May.

Note:- edited to correct mistype of east to west. The doctor was being interviewed in Liverpool. Kenneal 13.30, 16/10/20

Yep, it's looking like we are going to exceed the spring hospitalisation rate by the end of November - as the data suggested weeks ago.

This site does a good job of aggregating the UK data:

LJ, why are you wasting your time ranting here trying to convince a few reactionary old farts who aren't going to be swayed by your Spiked addled conspiracy theories? There's a whole world out there full of young people who don't give a shit about a disease which probably won't affect them much, they think, who would happily be convinced by your theories.

Bullshit. My dad has been in hospital for a week in James Cook hospital in Middlesbrough after losing the sight in one eye, losing half of the sight in the other and then suffering a heart attack from the complications arising directly as a result of lock-down.

Today, he decided he'd had enough and discharged himself and I went to pick him up. He made a choice. To die at home with his family round instead of a f***ing ward, half empty of patients and full of staff who are well aware this is all bullshit but who are too scared to speak out for fear of the consequences.

The doctor in charge of him asked me into his office at 6:30pm this evening to explain to me that my Dad could die if he does not stay in. I explained to him he has had enough of this bullshit where he has not been properly seen to when out of hospital, due to all of the district nursing staff doing all of their jobs on their arses by phone - when they actually bother to phone, that is - which is the reason he in in there now. And, when in there, he cannot have any visitors and is just as likely to die - but alone surrounded by strangers in masks.

That Doctor took his mask off and looked me in the eye at 6:30pm this evening and said he was sick of it himself, more sick than I could know, and that he was not alone and that he did not blame my Dad.

I have no words that I wish to repeat here about what I think of people like you Ken Neil.

Edit - Apologies, I have noticed that I mistyped East instead of West so my original post should have read "in the northwest". Kenneal-lagger.

NE hospitals are not full whatever the bullshit box says. I know a part time AE doctor in Newcastle. I have also recently visited the Shrewsbury Royal and Ludlow district hospitals and they are underused all this year.

And, even, to any extent they do get busy over this winter;

The NHS struggles every winter with a natural rise in winter viruses and other illnesses Or so our very own Pravda - the BBC - tells us every Autumn.

A large portion of the population will now have significantly compromised immune systems arising from being cooped up and/or muzzled for the majority of this year. Almost certainly leading to more than usual getting ill from any number of viral infections this winter.

Thousands of hospital appointment, other essential district medical treatments and tests have been cancelled or curtailed this year - of which my Dad is a direct casualty - leading to an enormous backlog this coming winter.

There has been a massive ramp up of highly inaccurate Covid testing in recent weeks. The lie has been simultaneously repeated, over and over in the MSM that the increase in positive test results is going to be accompanied - for certain - with a corresponding rise in hospitalisations and deaths.

We now have weekly testing of NHS employees in some places so that large numbers of hospital staff will now have to self-isolate at the busiest time of year even if they have no symptoms at all.

All patients admitted to hospital now are forced to take the PCR test. Thus if they die in hospital within the next 28 days - OF ANY CAUSE - in conjunction with testing "positive" for Covid19 when they went in, their deaths will be put down as "Covid19" deaths

So, guess what.... you can be f***ing certain that ANY rise in deaths this winter will be claimed to be Covid19 deaths arising from a "second wave" and will be screamed form the rooftops by an hysterical and ever compliant MSM and then mindlessly and also hysterically repeated by the dumbass, propagandized section of the population. and, of course, they will be given all the airtime necessary in vox-pops on the MSM to give the impression that they speak for everyone.

She's 85 though, so maybe wise to use a pic showing more than the requisite 2m ?
Just in case the worst were to happen...
But the truth is she is capable of making her own mind up about whether she wanted to stay 2m from me. We'd just had lunch together, and on quite a small table for 6 people, because we had three dogs with us and they weren't allowed in the restaurant bit of the pub.
