General Election May 2015

What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

Someone in the Guardian CiF boards suggested that the Fixed Term Parliaments Act would still allow the Tories to prorogue Parliament for 15 days after losing a Queen's Speech vote. Thus avoiding a second confidence vote. And resulting in an immediate G.E. 2.0.

Ah hae ma doots if this wad be popular wi the electorate. But never under- (or over-) estimate Gideon & Co.
Give me a place to stand on and I will move the Earth.

I always thought Mrs Catweazle was a one-in-a-million, turns out I was right, she voted Lib-Dem.

I was severely tempted to write "BOLLOCKS" on my slip, but in the end I voted Green. Probably have similar effect.

People who vote Tory are either morons or *****. We have a small amount of ***** running our country and, sadly, a very large number of morons who vote for them. I'm off to bed with my fingers crossed.

I can't bear it

I honestly couldn't give a toss. Neither party will make any difference to me, and I have one Son who will be temporarily better off under Labour, and one Son who will be temporarily better off under the Tories.

Both lads will be as screwed as the rest of us long-term, because they don't understand that the "system" is crashing.

As I was unable to vote for the SNP, Greens, or Plaid Cymru in my area, I voted Conservative.

Tories short by 10 seats. Will UKIP/DUP and Lib Dems take them over the line?

I'm not buying this exit poll:

Con 316 (+9)
Lab 239 (-19)
SNP 58 (+52)
Lib 10 (-47)
PC 4 (+1)
UKIP 2
Green 2 (+1)
Other 19

I think UKIP will have taken a higher share of the vote than the exit poll's been able to capture, I don't expect the Tory's to return more than 300.

I found that this time that there were a lot more people voting than usual. Anyone else found this?

Also, don't think the exit polls take account the ~20% of postal votes. No one has a clue about the UKIP bias in postal votes...

Interesting autopsy in the morning as to what went wrong, all the conventional polls this week or the exit poll.

Nick Clegg's decision to prop up a tory government has been a catastrophe.

He is responsible for the destruction of 40 years work building up the liberals from their low point in the early 70s and may yet be responsible for the destruction of the union between England and Scotland.

I want to see Clegg's head on a spike. Bastard.

Where does SNP fall regarding policies?

I find UK politics to be very confusing.

BBC now give Tories 325.
Liberals almost wiped out.
Swing toukip slightly larger than exit poll suggest.
SNP crushing victories.

Milliband looks likely to resign

1992 again, except we don't have a moderate like Major in charge
