Please tell me that you've ordered it from someone other than the ubiquitous evil that is named after a famous south American river that lazy people who should know better are still referencing on this forum.
There will never be any justice or fairness in this world when people are too f**king lazy to use a more ethical supplier that the bunch of shite that we have to convert to DODGY TAX AVOIDERS to try and change things.
You can get it here at the same price and I think that they are slightly more ethical in their dealings:-

Not so f**king straightforward when they can't provide a f**king listing for us f**king lazy people. I couldn't really use fewer f**king words and the F**king spelling is a bit difficult to get wrong.Sorry. We did not find any results for "man swarm" on Waterstones.com

I don't think it helps to have an offensive tone of voice, does it? Or is this a new requirement for mods that the others haven't caught on to yet?
Generally this world (or nature come to that) is not just or fair, it just "is". So you can beat me up if you see fit (or just (or fair)) I bought mine from "Wordery", who list it on DODGY TAX AVOIDERS.
PS do you use "google"? Buy products from any of the "Kraft" or "Nestle´" groups, use "Unilever" or "Proctor and Gamble" products? They may or may not have agressive tax avoidance schemes, but they certainly buy quite a lot of palm oil. Is that fair or just in your world?

I've been using this bookshop recently:
http://newsfromnowhere.org.uk/
Sometimes the same price as the tax dodgers, sometimes a little bit more but far far better to send a few extra quid their way:

News From Nowhere Radical & Community Bookshop has served Liverpool, the North West, and beyond, with the best in radical literature since 1974.
It's run on a not-for-profit basis by News From Nowhere Co-operative - a women's collective of five permanent, paid bookshop workers. Very often we have volunteer help too.
We are registered as a not-for-profit co-operative under the Industrial & Provident Societies Act

Another good choice promoting independent bookshops, usually priced within a few pence of the bad guys. http://www.hive.co.uk/
Oh do get off your high horse Ken. When I see you getting so hot under the collar about the plight of poor people right here in this country, I might take more notice. I could just as easily say there will never be any justice or fairness in this world when people are too f**king lazy to see further than their own grubby short term little interests by voting in the same Tory bunch of shite time and again. Now, which people would that be, Ken?kenneal - lagger wrote:Please tell me that you've ordered it from someone other than the ubiquitous evil that is named after a famous south American river that lazy people who should know better are still referencing on this forum.

I am bound to say, I have often noticed how both Tories with a "conscience" and comfortably-off, Right-On Liberals tend to reserve their greatest displays of moral outrage for those things which are just nicely once removed from impacting on their own affairs. That way, they get the best of both worlds in that they are seen to publicly "care" but not in any way which is going to seriously directly and immediately affect them.
I am not suggesting that *mazon et al are not the bunch of societal leeches they obviously are. I just don't need a moral lecture on that from you. And by the way, I bought off an Ebay UK supplier, if you must know.

Isn't krill depleting big time anyway because we've killed most of the whales?UndercoverElephant wrote:It is very well written. The author is passionate, and has no time for political correctness or fluffy idealism.woodburner wrote: I've ordered the Swarm book,
Probably not long before they start using krill to make fertiliser.and it's just struck me that now there are halfwits who are going to start (probably already have) eating krill, and depriving yet more animals of a living.

Even better is asking News from Nowhere, the women's co-op in Liverpool, to get your books for you. They may be slightly dearer on odd things - but you might be surprised. Either way, using them helps the conscience.kenneal - lagger wrote:Please tell me that you've ordered it from someone other than the ubiquitous evil that is named after a famous south American river that lazy people who should know better are still referencing on this forum.

Edit: Oops, just saw Chris's post about the same suppliers.

No, none of them and more, for donkeys' years. Practically everything I ever spend my money on is vetted first in one way or another.woodburner wrote:PS do you use "google"? Buy products from any of the "Kraft" or "Nestle´" groups, use "Unilever" or "Proctor and Gamble" products?

Studies in the 1970s proposed that the great reduction in the large whales of the southern oceans would lead to an increase in the population of krill, their major prey. It never materialised. Instead there has been a long-term decline. How could that be true? It now turns out that whales maintain the populations of their prey.

Now, that's an interesting conjecture I had not previously considered Ken. I see no reason why that would not also have been the case. Gaia theory explains a lot of how our planetary eco-system works.kenneal - lagger wrote:Bears catching salmon and doing what they then do in the woods similarly supports the whole forest system along the north west coast of North America. Would Scotland have had a similar system before man killed off the bears?
And by the way, my thanks and my respect for not deleting my recent post on here taking issue with you over the use (or not) of certain multinational services.
