If it does ever come into production, let's just hope that like nuclear power it won't be too cheap to meter because we have shown, as a species, that we do not have the maturity to use unlimited cheap power in anything like a sensible manner.

All cheap oil has achieved is the ever faster conveyor belt, as shown in Money is Debt, that we are increasingly in danger of falling off while a few accumulate obscene amounts of money.

Perhaps we should enact a law saying that anyone with over ?50M in assets should be admitted to a mental institution to find out why they have this compulsion to accumulate things that they can't do anything with. Well, maybe ?100M then. When you've got that much money you can't even count it in a lifetime. :(')
