The system at the moment where corporations can say that much of the "value" of their brand is held by an offshore entity so the profits are made by that off shore entity is plainly stupid and must be stopped. The best way of stopping it is to tax sales at a flat rate at the point of final delivery be that your front door or in the shop where you purchased the goods and with no get out clauses.

That way the likes of Am@zon and Starbucks can't get out of paying the same taxes that other ethical traders pay. If they don't like it let them take their trade elsewhere and lose the turnover from the UK. I can't see them doing that.

And if there is a way of making the multinationals pay extra taxation to make up for the robbery that they have committed over the last few decades all well and good. Bezos has plenty in the tank to take that sort of hit and there are plenty of other retailers who give better service to the UK with more ethical practices to take his place.

I can't see what the "current political class" have to gain by not taxing them unless they are all getting backhanders from lobbyists as other business sectors do.
