Nah. After post peak in 2008 it looked a little dicey, but that just turned into yet more pickup sales in the states, the continuation of NASCAR and transoceanic shipping, yada yada. I bet all those EV buyers are feeling a little foolish at this point with all the cool new offerings for pickup trucks. It is pathetic how little effect the increase in fuel prices have had on the sale of these things. They should be extinct already. Inside, LATOC and TOD are. Where is the fairness in that!

My own pickup is pint sized compared to that. six speed manual and better then 20mpg but will get right along at 80 plus mph when you want it to. Probably the last new one I will ever buy.

Quite useful, those kinds of trucks. Here was mine, once upon a time. 5 speed stick. Gave it up as I recognized that peak oil would crush my hopes and dreams of taking a monster truck to work, and become so thrilled with the newfound discretionary income that I just kept at it until I was down to the previously mentioned scootering, and now I am just irritated that my frugality hasn't mattered much because PO was such a bust.
