He is now. I've never seen so many mushrooms at the start of July as I have in the last three days. Given that there is no current sign of the weather patterns changing, this is effectively the mushroom season starting early. :)

No sustained sun and high temperatures? By that definition, yes, the 6th bad summer.

And, the pattern may be for warm, sunny Septembers, which we've had a few of (don't know about 6, but certainly the last couple of years). The old boy at the allotment tells me that they're predicting another one now,

Oh look! (via Stuart Staniford's blog), this is interesting. Could the 6 poor summers in a row be related to the big loss of arctic ice in 2007?
