Indeed, Canada is positively balmy (at least relatively speaking)...

Ken
I've heard it all before

http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Newsro ... p?id=22250
In 2001 they said 2010

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/7139797.stm
In 2007 they said 2013

And in 2010 they've said 2016.

What will they say in 2015?
Whoops, best push that back to 2020?

If they are right in 2010, why were they wrong in 2001?
Did I miss the big "hands up" "I'm sorry" moment?

You should read the scientists' papers direct, Dom, not the bloggers. the scientists are predicting 2020 now but were predicting 2100 ten years ago.

The bloggers are trying to sell a story so something sensational is required and a date a generation away is not sensational. Mind you the 2020 date they are now predicting is pretty sensational but as the bloggers have blown the story previously they would look very silly going for that date now.

Moral? Read the science, not the blog.

Ken
Earth Observatory NASA Newsroom is a blog? Not a NASA Newsroom?
If thats the case, do you have any idea how incredibly stupid that is?

News.BBC isnt really news (well I agree with that one, chuckle).

Peppermans Graph is very shocking, except I saw it in 97, or something like it, "proving" the world was about to end.

Except in 1997, it wouldn't have looked very shocking at all. It's the evolution of the last 2 years that are the shocking part.

If you can't read that graph and see that the old ice is down to a third of what it was in 1997 and recognise the importance of that you need to get an education, Dom. If you can see it and don't recognise the importance, you either need to get an education or your mind is so closed you are not educatable. Sorry!

lthough too early to be certain, it looks like the winter ice extent has peaked at close to the record low we saw in 2006.

We then went on to see the record low in the following summer.

This graph should be included in the masthead of every daily newspaper in the world - it's the clearest picture that humanity screwed up.
