Hmm yeah thanks for the reviews Roger (and Sharon).... it's a shame, I really enjoy Kunstler's rants (haven't read his book but I'm always on his blog + podcast). Would anyone care to recommend any other post-apocalypse fiction? I enjoy a bit of doom but would be nice to read a novel and not more speculative 'faction'.

quite a good book I read a while back was Z for Zachariah. its about a girl who survives a nuclear attack in a shielded valley and has to grow her own food. then a stranger comes into the valley and gets sick and she has to care for him. although its aimed at young adults its still a pretty good read.
