Transition to a Low Carbon Economy

What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

Fundamental changes to the UK economy will be
required to meet the greenhouse gas emission targets of
the Climate Change Act (2008). This POSTnote
examines UK emission trends since 1990 and considers
how the UK might achieve a technological and
behavioural transition to meet the targets

Another PDF, another 5-year plan, another 'Initiative', more 'legally binding commitments'.

Just more bollocks.

Things will only change when Bacton gets blown up or when Russia has a 12-week sulk in the middle of a cold winter or when an oil tanker is sunk or when Saudi's population revolts.

THEN we will see action: Draconian rules enforced by the Powers That Be on us mugs ... with many of your neighbours putting on Energy Warden uniforms and making your life a misery.

"Send out an armed snatch squad to 39 Acacia Avenue. The neighbours have reported that they have THREE light bulbs turned on!"

Gosh that's big hair.
