Playing my guitars and mandolin. :D
Drinking good beer and the occasional puff.
Walking.
Cycling.
Tending the veggies.

Why do I get the feeling that we're a bunch of piss artists?

My job is sometimes boring, but it has nothing to do with PO and that is something I am glad of.

Gardening these days.

Normally I would add studying... but since it's an OU course on Environment and Sustainability (T172 in case anyone was interested), that gets me thinking about this kind of stuff again.

Bit of photography.
Not so 'eco' is the computer aspect... a bit of geeking around programming my Mac (at least it's software that's going to help me in my garden planning).

.... then there's good food and good wine too, hic

Literally or metaphorically? I have the literal sort just outside my kitchen window. Moscatel. Sparrows usually have all the grapes off it before I get a look in, though.

ps
why is it so friggin' cold & generally miserable? 42mm of rain yesterday. Looked ok first thing but just got caught in a small but nasty hailstorm on my scooter on the way home. I blame James Hansen.

At least now there's some good alternatives to alcolol, I particularly liked the woods idea, I'm quite a fan of walking in the woods I find it a euphoric experience.

Having the baby has been pretty effective at making PO seem fuzzy and less real. When I'm cuddling him or doing work to look after him, everything seems better.

The post-birth mental fug makes it hard to to focus on the specifics of PO. That helps too.

Exchanging contracts on the house after 7 long months has helped too. What a relief!

I've stopped drinking, doing over stuff that I'd rather not talk about on the 'net.

Nice one Haggis. Best of luck to you!

I mean a real one, it even has several bunches of ripening grapes on it!

Thanks for timely reminder, though, of the usefulness of cultivating a metaphorical grapevine :D

As for your rain, I blame the Jet Stream.

Getting together in a pub to play a few tunes and having the craic with your friends.

Sweeping up leaves for the compost heap.

Walking the dog on a very cold, empty windswept beach.

Cycling the back roads to work when school's out.

Getting immersed in a good book in front of a log fire with a dozing dog at your feet.
I experience pleasure and pains, and pursue goals in service of them, so I cannot reasonably deny the right of other sentient agents to do the same - Steven Pinker

I've been getting into Phillosophy by Allan Watts, for such an intelligent man he talks in way that's so easy to understand http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsgXMRB4TeQ and http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 6818009166 are just a couple of great online examples.

I also enjoy relaxing and watching movies, my fave are horror films which I also do reviews of for my website.
