In general though... and as a matter of personal preference, I'd rather live in a Spanish town without a car than in the USA and have to own one.

Personally I've come to love America over the 5 years since I first visited it, but it's built on a myth and you have to make sure you're not taken in by it.In general though... and as a matter of personal preference, I'd rather live in a Spanish town without a car than in the USA and have to own one.
I remember when I bought my first car: although I was chuffed to bits I was uncomfortable at the prospect of becoming dependent on it. Which now, living 12 miles from where I work, I am.
