Anti-terror laws were used to seize Icelandic assets in UK

What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

You wait, you smug git. With 75% of Europe's credit card debt, Britain is going to be hit just as hard, just in a slightly different way. I wonder who you're going to be blaming then?

I suspect from your recent posts that you're just the sort of voter the BNP is targeting: ignorant, cocksure and always ready to kick someone else when they're down.
Hehe Ludwig you need to calm down mate :D (olive branch extended)

I am not kicking them while they are down, and yes, whatever we have coming we will get similiar treatment no doubt!

What do you think should happen with the Icelandic banks then? Let them off and tell all the UK charities and social services they can go whistle for their money? Stuff all the old grannies, disabled children and all the other vunerable people who are relying on getting this money back?

We need to help Iceland through - but given the owners of the money (see above) what on earth did they expect? (we have just loaned them 100 million recently for example...)

As for the BNP comments - isnt that a little bit over the top mate? Comments like that dont do you any favours...

Yeah, take a chill pill Ludwig. We are all friends on here and we are worried about the same problems, so lets not take those problems of the world out on each other please. :)

There is absolutley no doubt in my mind that we will have similar type problems coming up for the UK. Our oil revenues are dropping considerably and I imagine company profits and thus revenues will also drop quite dramatically from now on. Personal taxation is going to increase and there are an awful lot of people out there - up and down the country - who are deep in debt. Bad times are coming. :(
