Monday Market Mayhem? Here we go ;-)

Post by MisterE »

Well wont be long and monday morning will be here and markets will be open - pete tong time I reckon! The worrying thing in all of this is it feels planned, even though many of us think its just the greed fat cats with sticky paws who are 99% clueless. I'm not so sure about that, because all of a sudden 'the people' are all happy for any bank to be bailed out by errrrrr nationalising it - so that the state get total control. I think this will go even further and people in debt who own homes will not get repossed but the council / government will bail them out but own their homes but with strict rules on eviction - again another massive form of control. Something other than peak everything, dont sit right with me on this. Even though I've been shouting recession (like most) for a few years and moaning about running the UK on debt etc but why does it feel so planned?

Oh yeah, Hi all ;-)

Yo Mr E, good to have you back!! :D

I've heard the 'it's all engineered' theory too, I'm not so sure though. Just one form of control replacing another really.

Still not totally convinced that TPTB are actually in control - there are too many wildcard variables. Like OPEC lying about their reserves. Like the fact that countries will always be in competition with each other. In fact, the act of attempting to seize control is usually a sign that things are beyond control.

There will never be a world government because someone will always stand to lose from it. As the empire grows - so does the rebellion. That's life.

Yep its good to be back, but I'm off tomorrow, working in Wincanton. In all of this crises I've never been so busy, madness in it. Very true, and good points Andy, I guess if I was rich beyond belief I'd then want power and to rule the world and go a on a killing spree and be a nightmare dictator oh and I'd want some hard core followers - now who said I've not got a dark side!

But in reality, what do you do if you got all the money you'd ever need? Its a mad thought in it? Me or you would enjoy it, but those who have had it all their lives, I'm not so sure - I reckon they'd go for the ole lord of the universe drunk on power route :-)

Satan is divided against himself. The minute you got to rule the world, someone would be plotting to stab you in the back.

This thing with "saving" people from unseen threats is not a new invention. Its a fundamental modus operandi of everyone who want to be on top of things - and governments belong to that category. Before them it was various religious leaders who did the same trick.

I mean, take a step back for a while: Life is changing, sure, but it's a pretty slow process most of the time. Most people have jobs or attend schools or care for children or such. Shops are pretty well stocked and the lights are on. Suddenly from out of nowhere they scream that the sky is falling and the people who make pasta wont be able to sell it because there is a lack of some "credit" thing. Eh?

Sounds like we should cease all trading because the pope and all the cardinals have indigestion and suddenly are stricken by doubts.

You all need to calm down. Don a sackcloth and pick up your copy of Bishop Headley's Retreat. You will soon find your inner self and all will be good.

I'm well calm. Almost horizontal and not bothered with anything that comes to be honest. But in this day and age I think things can fall fast. Like I said I build stores for all the biggest names and those things can be emptied in a day! I've done it, I've emptied a Sainsbury in a day with the general public on a build. Same as the banking the level of debt, people want their coin or panic I'd say that would casue a pretty rapid effect. The bigger the greed the bigger and faster the feck up I reckon. If nowt else it will be an interesting week.

I for one would not be suprised with many firms going to the wall, banks struggling and then a week later lots of job lossess. Likewise things could chill out, but either or downsizing is coming, its just a question of how fast in my eyes :-)

Ah, monsieur Bonaparte, where is he when his country needs him??

Talking of which I saw a share price graph somewhere recently and with a cliff on the left-hand side and a series of low arches on the right it really did look like the trajectory of a Dead Cat Bouncing :D

Heheh, it does indeed. Falling off a cliff, hitting a few outcrops on the way down then bouncing off a rock into the sea.

That's an evil false-origin graph.

The sea is WAY, WAY below.
