Existing homes consultation

The Energy Efficiency Partnership for Homes is undertaking a project led
by the UKGBCwith the Sustainable Development Commission, the Technology Strategy Board and the support and co-funding from Government to propose measures that will ensure Government achieves its climate change targets for the existing housing stock.

A report will focus on the period up to 2022 (the end of the third ‘carbon
budget’) and also include a high-level ‘roadmap’ to 2050 showing what
needs to be done to remain on course for an 80% cut in carbon.

A wide-reaching industry and stakeholder consultation now follows the
completion of a literature review. An online consultation is now live
until the Friday 29th August. You are invited to participate in this

A stakeholder workshop will follow on 12th September. Representatives for
each of the Partnership’s working groups are being invited to the
workshop.

The final output will be a short report to Government at the end of
September. This will seek to inform as comprehensively as possible the
upcoming Government consultation on energy efficiency and subsequent Low Carbon Homes Strategy in spring 2009.

Isn't that the vampire slayer's assistant?

(I really heate that term -- it's an insult because it assumes a level of participation or control that does not/cannot exist in the kind of centralised power relationship that pervades government andcorporations today)

Stakeholder seems to have one of two meanings:

1. Someone we pretend to consult, but who we then ignore.

2. Someone useless who nevertheless seeks power or goodies by claiming some sort of spurious interest in a topic or project.
