The last time I was on a march I scowled heavily at one of them ... for that they took LOADS of photos of me.

Many poepl do , and they dont like it all - will often result in threats to arrest, smash camera equipment etc. One group who are taking concerted efforts against this surveillance are :

As a tactic it is having some success, and many people on demos now mask up to preserve their identities.
