North and South (of UK)

Post by RenewableCandy »

Following on from a point made by Biff about natural locations for towns and cities:

The UK (England Scotland Wales N.Ireland) has roughly the same number of people North and South of a line drawn between the Bristol Channel and the Humber. Will it be those North, or South, of this imaginary line who on the whole fare better (or at least, less badly)?

Oooo...I'm just south of the Humber but identify much more with the North. No idea which way to vote though.

Northern girls.

The south will win because it's nearer the equator.

And we've got Devon. And you haven't. :P

In reality Dumfries is the Deep South. Those of us accustomed to the Arctic Mistral will do just fine [with a little Passport Kontrol  ]

We'll come down in hordes, armed with black puddings and eccles cakes, and beat you into submission and take your pasties and make pies out of them.

The thought crossed my mind as I was writing it. If you feel you're a Northerner, then you are one.

Yup Devon's great. But there's an awful lot of the South that isn't Devon...

Why North vs South ?

Why not West vs East - Lancs vs Yorks, Celts vs Angles, Welsh vs English, Trelawney's Army vs the Rest :)
