The next London mayor

What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

A strong article from Johann Hari.

I'm thinking it's sad that it didn't happen. But given the Olympics and sea-level rises, perhaps Ken wanted to get out!

Funny how the election coverage is all about whether the government can get over this temporary glitch in our economic condition so that all will be well in two years.

As if.

Well one thing is for sure. Whoever gets in will be drinking from a poisoned chalice. PO will see to that. :(

Yes, the fact that the Tories are so keen to get elected in '09 or (more likely now '10) suggests that they don't really understand the reality of our situation. Timing is all I guess. If the economic shit hits the fan in any quantity before the election, they could blame it all on Labour but I think that party political responses like that could well be counter productive in the economic circumstances we will likely find ourselves in, three or four years from now.

Personally I'm glad that nutter ken's out, too bad he's been replaced by another nutter.

London is buggered anyway.

Boris does have more of a sense of humour than Ken.

I am quite positive about the future of humanity. I know it has too get a whole lot worse before it gets better.

If ICI and the like can be broken up, then why not London?
