What changes can we make to our lives to deal with the economic and energy crises ahead? Have you already started making preparations? Got tips to share?

I take the approach of concentrating on blitzing one each year. Last year it was brambles....
Brambles = blackberries - score 1
Dandelions apparently make an excellent coffee substitute - I tried it one summer and didn't quite get the technique right but could see the potential....
I think I've got around 16-20 (I keep thinking of more so maybe its 21+) but my list includes some warmer climate things: avocado, almonds, olives,3 types of citrus. Not all are producing fruit yet - I have no olives off my trees yet but my neighbour has excess so we're trying out preserving them for the first time.
I find the problem with perennials is finding room in my not especially big garden to fit them all in.
