National Meet Up - August 2nd/3rd
As suggested on another thread, a national meet up might be a good idea, and as there is initial enthusiasm for the idea -
If a national meet up is required I can offer a field, free of charge, 6 miles from the junction of the M4 and A34 for a long weekend during the summer. Plenty of space for parking, camping and bbq's; far away enough from the neighbours for a bit of jammin'; got a spare double room and a bunk room and I can organise some ecobuilding, cob and straw bale, workshops if required. Got an ecohouse to see, a large organic garden, the beginnings of a forest garden and an outside cob oven and barbecue.
No need to fly off to Bali and we're about 50 miles from Brumigum but I can't guarantee the weather. The offer's there, folks.
I happy for it to be family friendly on the strict understanding that your own children are your own responsiblity. I would initially suggest August, as it's during the school holidays (can't do weekends of 12th or 19th July), but open for debate.

At the moment I'm going up north in late July, in time for something on the 26th, and wasn't planning to come back south again until the second week in September. Unlike most of you, if I go somewhere I don't have to go home again afterwards. I just stay there until I've got somewhere else to go. Saves lots of diesel . But that doesn't mean my plans won't change.

I'm there!!
Can I bring my 400W solar sound system that I am building and LED disco light? It should be finished by then!! And I could do with testing it out, to see how it performs . . . pretty pleeeze?
Can't do the w/e of 9th Aug or 16th Aug tho. Back end of Jul or Aug would be ideal for me.

We've got a few very good micro breweries locally so I could get some in.

is one is one and hopefully the Flowerpots in Cherington is brewing again
Would you need a hall for Peakspeak or would a marquee be OK? I can arrange for either if required. If Peakspeak was included, how many people would that be?

Pictures taken at a previous "Cob Building Weekend" at Ken's:

There's a very good pub down the road that had "Stinger" on tap last time we dropped in.
Perhaps it would be worth organising car-shares.
