New record $100.40

Last day of trading for the March WTI contract. April is still in the mid-$99s.

Wasn't there a competition thread to see who'd guess when oil would close over $100 for the first time. Who won?

I thought the OIL-PRICE.NET window below was a real time indicator? Currently showing $99.72.

I have a ticker on my desktop that shows the Bloomberg price. It and the oil-price.net one are quite often different although they do tend to follow each other. I think the Bloomberg one up dates more often, but I'm not sure.

Bloomberg now 100.74. OP.net 99.74

Thanks for the update Sally. Have you got a link for the Bloomberg ticker?

It's $100.00 now. Do you think that has a deep cosmic significance? :)

It's a "Widget" (whatever that is) and I think it comes from Yahoo. I was given a link on another forum - which I no longer have. I have no idea how to get the link out of the ticker itself. There used to be a widget bar that went with this, but after the family loaded masses of widgets which we couldn't get rid of. . . . well we did eventually and now I just have the oil ticker thing. (It's in the shape of an oil drop :) ) I've just done a google search and mine's like this one except mine says via Bloomberg not Nymex.

http://widgets.yahoo.com/widgets/oilprice

Hope that helps.

Our ticker on Powerswitch says $101.13 now.
The Bloomberg one I have says $101.07

So will that be a new high on closing?

It is indeed Sally. New closing high for WTI today. Intraday high is still a bit higher though.
