I am Legend is a real doomer flick, not great, but doomerish none the less.

I enjoyed it - it certainly shows you how most survivalists will end up if TSHTF.
"Heard about the guy who fell off a skyscraper? On his way down past each floor, he kept saying to reassure himself: So far so good... so far so good... so far so good. How you fall doesn't matter. It's how you land!"

I am Legend is enjoyable in a fantasy type way but it just develops into a totally unbelievable storyline. I thought it might be something like the 1975/76 TV series of Survivors but without giving too much away and spoiling it for others, it goes way away from being believable to satisfy my doomerism.

I thought 28 weeks later was a good follow up to 28 days.

Flood has a really good beginning but terrible acting throughout. It does have the guy who played neil from the young ones and strangely he is really bummed out during the film!! Typecast I suppose.

Also, The Day After is the American version of Threads and the actual nuclear attack event is way more horrific but the overall story is poor IMO.

I'm afraid I think that the NY in the film, with its tree-dotted and car-free streets, looks more inviting than the place today. Well, except for the wolves and stuff :)

Flood is such a terrible film, really awful. I managed 10 minutes of watching before I actually wished everybody in the film would die so it would be over...
Switched it off and poured scorn on the person who brought such an awful film into my house.

I agree but I can sit through crap films if they're appocolyptic types. And the very beginning was a superb scene. They should have left it to the end.
