And the $100 barrel winner was...

Cat/Miss Madam said 28 Dec.
Sunny Jim said Jan 08, but wasn't more specific.
Mr E said 19 Jan 08.

You're not playing the usual rule of requiring a closing price above $100 rather than a single trade?

You mean to say we've not yet got $100 despite the mainstream media hype?

We very briefly went over $100 by 9 cents but by the end of the day we were well below again, and now the US economy is showing more horror signs, we've dropped below $98... for now.

100$ oil? That is so old hat, move on, the bets are all on 200$ now:

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid= ... refer=home
The fastest-growing bet in the oil market these days is that the price of crude will double to $200 a barrel by the end of the year.
Options to buy oil for $200 on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose 10-fold in the past two months to 5,533 contracts, a record increase for any similar period.

well I voted for 15th Sept on the way down about two weeks ago in another thread and missed by a mere weekend so I think I claim that one.
Election day in the US 6th Nov - you reckon it'll take off before polling day? - I vote for Fri 7th :)

The price just spiked $6 to $97.40 so you may not have long to weight...

I read a comment on TOD that as soon as the US gets its refineries running again in a couple of weeks they will suddlenly notice that they are in the middle of an accute petrol shortage with winter closing in and the heating oil stocks low, and a civil war in Nigeria and OPEC reducing production and several platforms in the Gulf of MExico at the bottom...

It might plummet back down to $100 on the 5th of November, just in time to sway the voters. Anything can happen in Undulating Plateau Land.
