I just filled my tank @ 106.9 ppl - first time it has cost me over ?60 - this is starting to hurt........

edit - and that price was at Tesco's, some loacal filling stations are charging 110.9 ppl

Meanwhile on the Costa Geriatrica, I'm paying exactly the same figure for diesel for my car, except the currency is Euros and not Pounds Sterling

As my main form of transport is now a Honda SH125i scooter which does approx 120mpg, Im not hurting too much. Next year is going to be um.. interesting for the many SUV drivers in my area, methinks.

I was driving through Devon the other day and saw ?1.16 for diesel - was going to get a photo on the way back but it was dark. Scary stuff...

well imagine paying ?5 a litre!!!

In pakistan it is now 100 rupees a litre, which although only converts to about 80pence per litre the actual value of 100 rupees to a pakistani living in pakistan is what we here in uk would value as about ?5!!! (I have friends and family in paksitan thats how I know)

Most of the people there have converted to gas. Now i'm no expert on these things but i'm guessing the same thing has happened in other 3rd world countries which has probably helped to keep prices of oil the little bit lower than what they could have been. If the majority of people in paksitan and other 3rd world countries had not converted to gas surely oil would have broken the $100 per barrel by now woudnt it?

Strange why it should be 101.1 ppl in Surrey, cheaper where the people can most afford it..

WTI Feb 08 contract now $98.20, up $2.25 today. Coming into range of $100 again as new year brings new investments in oil indices.

WTI touched $99, retreated to $98.65

New all time high for Brent $97.05

I remember watching my car turn 100 000 miles. Silly really as it's only a psychological barrier.

Waiting for $100 oil carries the same crazy mental fascination!

I want to see the numbers as they happen on the ticker here!

WTI reached $99.25, just 4c short of all time high.

Brent new high is $97.43

Nymex exchange actually hit WTI $100 in a sudden spike.

On ICE though the high is still $99.58
