chubbygristle, I wouldn't let the blog entries on petrolprices.com get you down too much.
hello

it's not something that would get me down. Just something I find very very irksome. It's not just the blog comments though. There's just too many Daily Mail experts knocking about :-) Think I've just had the misfortune to run into a few of them in various places recently.

Hope you all have a good xmas by the way.

ohh... just some more random thoughts that popped into my head.....

i went on a permaculture course back in 2006 where someone was telling us about a book....

http://www.DODGY TAX AVOIDERS.co.uk/Nonviolent-Comm ... 883&sr=8-1

It's just occurred to me that maybe I should have a look at this and maybe it would be useful for writing some more friendly and persuasive texts or improve conversational skills regarding Peak Oil, Climate Change, top soil / aquifer erosion etc. especially when dealing with people who are completely new and closed to ideas that contradict the foundations they have built their future aspirations on*. I don't have enough patience waiting for people to fully understand things (which is quite ironic as sometimes it takes me ages to get my head around most things). It's then easy to veer off course and just sound angry / arrogant etc, which at the end of the day does any good to anyone.

I work in an I.T. position where I am used to dealing with very black and white situations. I am not very good at understanding nor communicating the more er, fuzzy things in life.

Has anyone else read this or tried to apply the principals behind it? If so how did you find it?

Probably something for a different thread really but I am curious.

Cheers,

Rob.

[*] I acknowledge that in my haste on the forum comments thing I defined peak oil as the point where demand exceeds supply.... whoops.
