Not the first really bad typo on the website!

Oooh, let me buy some... :)

Actually we are down slightly today after setting yet another new high ($82.51). Price for October WTI is now $81.30.

Today is the first day for about 2 weeks we haven't seen massive wave of hedge fund buying. I wonder if they're done for the time being?

I expect they're all back on a roll with the equties now the BoE has promised 10 BILLION of 'liquidity' for the 3 month money markets. Idiots.

I think you're probably right. That's exactly how they think.

I'm willing to bet that the ?surprise? drop in inflation will ensure that the BOE drop interest rates at the next opportunity.

Might be a relatively short 'cycle'. In about six months time, with inflation rocketing back up, people will be after Mervyn King's blood again. Or the next guv'nors blood, that is.

I've got David Bowie singing Cat People (Putting Out Fire) stuck in my head these last few days.

And I wonder at whom the finger of blame from the BoE and it's board/gov will point? You can almost take it for granted there'll be cries of "Not my fault, blame....."

For me it's been The Eagles' Hotel California.

Er, yes, I left the office at 6 with the price having been at $82 all day, and then suddenly in the last hour of trading it jumps $2. Not untypical of recent days I must admit. Mind you it was the last day of trading for the October contract, so tomorrow the front month becomes November and that takes us back down to about $81.50 again.

All the oil companies taking their staff off the platforms in the US gulf out of fear of a storm brewin' didn't help, that's for sure.

With the dollar weakening again we're pushing near to new all time highs in WTI. The November contract has reached $83.59 today so far. The all time high is $83.90.
