Visiting London

Post by Andy Hunt »

I'll be coming down to the big smoke next Wednesday (4th July) for the Sustainable Development UK conference on Thursday 5th July, but on the afternoon/evening of the 4th I will be at a loose end.

Just wondered if anyone in the vicinity fancied meeting up for a drink somewhere in London city centre. It would be great to meet up with some Powerswitch folk, I feel a bit out on a limb up here in the frozen Northern wastes!

Andy, I'll be around, if you want to meet after work. Where is the conference being held?

I'll be staying at London Southwark Premier Travel Lodge, but the conference is at the QEII exhibition centre on the Thursday.

Should get in early afternoon, up for beer very soon after that! Conference starts at 8:40 on the Thursday tho, so shouldn't push the boat out tooo much . . .

Open to suggestions for venue - the official Powerswitch pub?

Will be great to meet with you guys!

The area where you are staying is nice. Tess, do you work in the City? My work is not far away. There are a few places around nearby Borough Market.

I have yet to figure out which is the nearest tube station . . . I couldn't get anywhere closer to the QEII Exhibition Centre because everywhere is booked up due to Wimbledon being on, apparently.

Any good real ale pubs round there Tess? Should I bring my Arran sweater and guitar?

It looks like you are staying near London Bridge Tube/mainline station. I don't know any real ale pubs. Tess?

Thanks Adam. Will PM you my mobile number before I come down on Wednesday, in the unlikely (?) event that I get lost or something.
