Why bother?

I must read this humanure book. It sounds damn inspiring! I'd love a composting toilet. I love the whole idea of it, and I can think of no better closing of the loop so to speak.
I wonder what glastonbury festival does with all the humanure? From what I've read it's important to keep the solids and liquids separated isn't it? They certainly don't do that at the festival, so does that mean all that poo is unusable?

Yes, read the book; it's enlightening. Warning though, if you are anything like me its going to haunt you until you DO something constructive. You don't need to separate liquids and solids, in fact its preferable not too once you understand the basics.
Bandidioz, you are right (again)! I just need to get started. I have ordered a compost bin from the site you reccommended but not a Green Joanna. There was a link into pomotions in your area and I have got a basic model for a tenner. This bin that I am now waiting for will take my compost for about 4-5 months hopefully after which time I will need to find a site for another 2 bins. I have very limited outside space and no place which isn't concreted which I own. Finding sites for the bins is going to be a project of stealth and deception!! Don't suppose most people would be pleased to find out what I am going to be putting in them. Hopefully this can change but I'm not holding my breath, especially because its a massive leap of faith for me too.
Have decided to start composting with 10 l buckets which I already have in my garage.
I need to prove that I can do this and not waste more time.

you can read the humanure handbook online here and download a copy of the 3rd edition
And we should have a meeting of peak oilers going to the big green (I will be there it close to where I live and I always go ) and would be happy to help out if we had a stall
