I had a large yellow generator in my back garden patio for quite a few years. I think it was a company called Lister. It was my brothers who decided to tow it away when the company he worked for collapsed in 2008. We used to run it once a every 6 months (I think) just to keep it working. It was a diesel unit with multiple cylinders. It used to smoke a lot upon starting but once it was running it cleaned up its act :) I gave it it back as it was taking up a lot of room....

Lister generators tend to be large and heavy if compared to more modern alternatives, they are however simple and durable. No longer made, though modern copies exist.
