pro palestinian protestors have been releasing numbers of live mice, painted in Palestinian colours, in branches of macdonalds.
Crual to the mice in my view and a silly protest, details from news media of your choice.
If you believe the official figures...., there are about 3,900,000 Muslims and 270,000 Jews in the UK....
If it were to seriously 'kick-off' here, there would only be 1 winner....
The authorities need to keep a tight lid on all this....
I know several of those 3.9 million Muslims, and they are the nicest, calmest, non-violent people you'd ever meet. Don't tar the majority with the action of the few.

I'm strictly neutral in all this...
All I'm saying is that the authorities here need to keep the lid on both sides....
We're all acutely aware that radical Muslims already have the capability to blow stuff up, including themselves....
That's not to say that the other side don't have a similar capacity...
OK. So Blinken visits the Israeli government to tell them they have to stop the genocide ("we want to see concrete action to protect civilians now"). And Israel has responded by saying there will be no end to the genocide until the hostages are freed. Rather obviously, in this situation, Hamas will not free any hostages. Israel does not actually care about the hostages. What Israel wants is to slaughter as many Gazans as possible.
How long until Hezbollah gets involved?
"We fail to mandate economic sanity because our brains are addled by....compassion." (Garrett Hardin)
I listened to Nasrallah's speech today - nothing to suggest Hezbollah are about to engage in a big way... But I guess that's what they would say even if they were!
It is interesting that they are likely capable of launching 1000+ rockets per hour which would overwhelm Iron Dome in short order and it's not obvious that aircraft carriers could protect themselves from that kind of barrage either if in range.
The director of the New York office of the UN high commissioner for human rights has left his post, protesting that the UN is “failing” in its duty to prevent what he categorizes as genocide of Palestinian civilians in Gaza under Israeli bombardment and citing the US, UK and much of Europe as “wholly complicit in the horrific assault”.
Craig Mokhiber wrote on 28 October to the UN high commissioner in Geneva, Volker Turk, saying: “This will be my last communication to you” in his role in New York.
Mokhiber, who was stepping down having reached retirement age, wrote: “Once again we are seeing a genocide unfolding before our eyes and the organization we serve appears powerless to stop it.”
Why are so few people in the UK brave enough to use that word? I know about 4 people who have said it publicly and they have said it loud and clear. Everybody else appears to be pretending it is not happening, or not genocide.
"We fail to mandate economic sanity because our brains are addled by....compassion." (Garrett Hardin)
UE: “Why are so few people in the UK brave enough to use that word?”
The obvious risk of hypocrisy perhaps?
“Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) points out that according to the UN, about six times more children have been killed in Gaza in just three weeks than have been killed in Ukraine during the entire war“
The word has been so debased by its use in propaganda that is patently hyperbolic and partial. It’s become ‘par for the course’ in media reporting.
I’ve said before that the Russians are really useless at inflicting civilian casualties compared to ‘the West’ (and Israel in this case)
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yep. Given the success of asymmetrical warfare in, most recently, Afghanistan - I think the Arab world is happy to make America ‘pay to play’ over a longer time scale than the NATO tactic best summarised as ‘declare victory and retreat’
Starting to think backing Netanyahu as swiftly and firmly as he has is going to cost Biden the election - gonna be tricky to distance himself as the civilian casualties mount. If Trump avoids jail, my odds on him winning again have shortened.

Starmer over here has similarly lost the plot.
Something of a crisis of democracy when all the emperors have no clothes except the all too diaphanous harem pants that their corporate masters pay them to wear

Yep. They’re extremely vulnerable targets and sunk in short order in any serious war.
<yawn> Jealous much? So vulnerable that the worst deaths on American nuke carriers were by accidents and fires onboard, without anyone in any of the serious wars they've been in for 6 decades laying a finger on one?

“going to cost Biden the election”
Do you really think that Biden is running the US when he is so obviously in the grip of terminal dementia?
And when both candidates suffer the same maladies? He certainly might. He beat the traitor from his basement last time, and there is a year to go yet.
