Yes.

“Attacks on US military outposts in Iraq and Syria have continued over the weekend ”

The whole situation has definite potential for runaway escalation and a long term war of attrition by the Arab world against the uninvited and much resented US bases and territorial occupations across the region.

This won’t end well unless it somehow manages to fizzle out until the US is forced to withdraw by its own increasing bankruptcy

It won't make any difference to future of NATO.
You think Turkey becoming increasingly anti NATO won’t make any difference to NATO?

“Turkey has been a member of NATO since 1952, has its second largest army and is the host of the Allied Land Command headquarters.”
Turkey is not going to leave NATO.
What. Ever? The current NATO membership will exist for all eternity ?

“Erdogan Vows To Get Israel Branded As "War Criminal" State, Also Blames West For Gaza "Massacre"”

“He stressed that the West is busy justifying the massacre of innocent people in Gaza, as the civilian death toll soars, saying "Israel is committing war crimes" as an "occupier." He added: the "West owes you, but Türkiye does not owe you."”

I think that the worldview he’s expressing there is a long way from NATO’s complicity in the massacre of Gaza

“NATO Secretary General: “Israel does not stand alone””

Well Turkey’s taking a pretty anti NATO stance there. As are you.

Or does your support for NATO ‘Uber alles’ trump your horror at the NATO supported genocide in Gaza?

Turkey will not leave NATO for the foreseeable future because of its own security interests.

Does Turkey want the US as an enemy? No.

Security interests. Turkey bought its latest air defence system from Russia. Against the will of the US.

The US is a ‘friend’ to Israel and helping Israel’s efforts in Gaza that you so wholeheartedly oppose. Does Turkey want friends like that? Turkey has already chosen sides.

Turkey sounds like it agrees with your stance on the Israel/Palestine situation. NATO directly opposes your view.

I expect we'll find out this week if Arab nations actually care about Palestinians or not.

With IDF tanks on the outskirts of Gaza city i'm more and more convinced nobody is willing to jump in the fight for Hamas. Deterrence + a creeping invasion without a big "it has begun" statement seems like a working strategy.

Yeah I agree with that. The slow boiling of the frog approach seems to be working.

I don’t expect to see full on declarations of war against Israel - but I do expect an increase in lower level asymmetrical attacks on Israeli and US targets in the area to continue

FYI the kidnapped 22 year old Israeli girl Shani Louk has been found.

Tortured and decapitated.

The BBC correspondent just reported that Qatari negotiators say they had a hostage release deal ready to sign with Israel and Hamas just before the current Israel ground offensive started.

Seriously?? So no debate is allowed??

You know, i presume, that Israel and Netanyahu funded and supported Hamás as they preferred to have then as an adversary rather than the PLO or PFLP?

How many Palestinians dead today?

Another 50 in a refugee camp which Israel says killed one targeted leader of Hamas. 49 innocents for one enemy is an acceptable level of collateral damage in this war, at least for the Israeli leadership.

That is a feature rather than a bug. Collective punishment is the name of the game. The more collateral damage the better. That is why this is genocide and not war.

pro palestinian protestors have been releasing numbers of live mice, painted in Palestinian colours, in branches of macdonalds.
Crual to the mice in my view and a silly protest, details from news media of your choice.

Really? Is antisemitism a common attitude on the island among the inhabitants? Or more of just the prepper types? Grew up rural, didn't even know what being Jewish was until I bumped into some of them at a private boys school, and then it seemed like they were no different than anyone else. Never gave it a second thought.
