Home made radio valves.

Post by adam2 »

Video of home made valves, showing the key stages in the process.
The process is rather involved and requires a well equipped workshop, the correct materials and consumables, and some experience of small scale metalwork and of glass working.
Just about doable though.

I have made a crude valve as a school science project, rather cruder and simpler than the one shown but it did work.

Only a Frenchie could make that gesture at 16:45.

Very good video. My glassblowing skills were limited to drawing micro pipettes in the Chemistry Lab.

Someone has not only made a transistor at home but a simple IC too.
