I have more faith in PV, wind farms, and even fusion.
Few natural processes produce hydrogen, and large and previously undiscovered reserves sound most unlikely.

I think hidden hydrogen is most unlikely as about 40% of the earths crust is made up of oxygen, as oxides, and the hydrogen would react with the oxygen to form water.

The article is remarkably detailed and comprehensive, yet it describes a potential large scale fossil energy source I have never heard of. It sounds to me like something Chatgpt would write when prompted to write an article is ifhydrogen was an alterbative energy source being discussed in a serious industry publication.

Already dozens of websites existing entirely of chat bot content presented as factual reporting have appeared as click bait sites aimed at generating advertising revenue. I strong suspect chat bots are being used to generate anti Ukrainian disinformation on an industrial scale.

According to that article, global production of naturally occurring hydrogen is 5 tonnes a year. There are geologists who claim there reserves of hundreds of billions of tonnes, but given we consume 3 billion tonnes of oil a year, and similar amounts of ng and coal, it would replace just one decade of fossil energy at current consumption rates. I very much doubt it will expand fast enough to even register as a net energy source before we either fry or freeze or starve
