The Welsh government said all future roads must pass strict criteria which means they must not increase carbon emissions, they must not increase the number of cars on the road, they must not lead to higher speeds and higher emissions, and they must not negatively impact the environment.

No new roads then. Good.

There is no such thing as a new road which does not negatively impact the environment, unless the road was built on something else as lifeless as a road.

A good idea, but only if rail and/or water transport is made available or improved instead.

I recall the A55, or was it the A5 was very congested in parts, often due to tourists as much as transportation.

A good thing. Now let's completely ban the production of new cars. There are plenty out there already. Let people find some other bauble to self validate with.
