Why is Sunak hated by so many?

I know a lot of people don’t like thinking about the wider picture, but think about it for a minute. The next decade will be one of falling living standards in most fiat currency countries.
We all know energy will become more expensive and thus, rationed by price. I do not see any political party doing what is needed i.e. reduce use, fund renewables to replace a fraction of current usage, insulate, reduce imports, home shore most imports.

Then you have a media industry who only broadcast doom, rarely broadcast any proactive, collegiate coming together. Add in that all fiat countries essentially have two choices to deal with the never experienced in human history debt pile. One, they can inflate it away (massive decrease in living standards, constant strikes etc) or, two, carry on debasing the currency and print to oblivion (introduction of central bank digital currencies and maybe social credits, then a hyperinfaltion)

The next government in all occidental countries will need to take the blame for the worst relative crash in living standards in human history.

Why is Sunak hated by so many?

Because he is what Theresa May described as " A citizen of everywhere is is a citizen of nowhere"

I personally get the feeling that if a Russian missile struck the UK, we would see him on green card in the US, or working for his father in law somewhere in the world.
In plain words I question his commitment to the UK.
But I don't hate him, merely don't trust him.

Any future PM has to get the support of 100 MPs for their nomination paper so that will severely limit who can get through. Boris would have a problem getting that number of MPs to support him after his last time in office. We'll soon see!

I think Johnson has at least 80 loyal mp followers, especially in the Red Wall seats. I am not sure he will be kept out at this stage. I think he would cause so many mps to resign that the government would collapse.

Michael Fabricant has all the qualities the current version of the Tory party require. He'd beat a lettuce easily, though it might be a bit tougher if he were facing off with a cabbage.

"My" mp but frankly something of a standing joke around here. The general feeling is that he has retained his seat for so long because he's " comfortable " . He hasn't done anything radical , hasn't made any real mistakes , he hasn't really done anything noteworthy , he hasn't rocked the boat , he's just there. Perhaps that unremarkableness might give the stability that's required but I tend to feel he'd be as out of his depth as Truss was.

Seriously though, no matter what anyone says, he's likely to be in with a shout, given the fact that he was seen to have been pushed out. It'll be weird to see him and Hunt working together, should Boris win...

I have a hard time believing enough Tory MPs are quite that dim - or that he even wants the job in these troubled times, why do it?

I think he is playing the long game. Get enough MP's to back him, keep the large and discounted public on board as loyal supporters, then announce for whatever reason he cannot stand. Give the upcoming apocalypse to Sunak or Labour, then ride to the rescue in 5 years time when all the really awful decisions have been made. Private pensions getting a haircut, universal credit severely cut back, so the only real alternative is work, state pension trimmed. A 20B bill has been sent to the treasury this morning from the BoE for the years of QE. This is just the beginning.

Everyone is saying that Sunak is the front runner. Amongst whom? Seriously, if Sunak and Hunt front up the Tories, you might as well give Starmer and Reeves a shot.

There's probably very little to choose between them, except it might be worth seeing what Labour would do differently.
