The government is to reduce domestic passenger duty rates to boost the aviation industry after the pandemic.

This clearly shows that the government puts the economy before the future of the human species. Again.

That will bugger up all the projections for HS2 as well. Not many people are going to take the train when they can get a cheap fight. Or will they put the flight duty up again as HS2 comes on line?

Not just HS2, but rail in general.
Plenty of cheap petrol, and if it is to far to drive, cheaper domestic flights also.
