Hi,
Are the new heat-pump based ventless clothes dryers worth the money?
(Our house is a closed system and we find it impossible to dry clothes in the winter)
Thanks.
Ventless heat-pump clothes dryers?

Re: Ventless heat-pump clothes dryers?
We have a condenser type tumble drier. It works well, and although I haven't measured it claims to use less electricity. Ours has the water pipe attached, running outside, so we don't have to empty the tank which would soon get tiresome. It does need a "maintenance program" run regularly, which cleans fluff out of the heat exchanger, it involves fitting a plug to the water tank and adding 1.5 litres of warm water.

Doesn't your ventilation system have a boost for the wet rooms, Vortex? I would have thought that was standard on most systems. Boosting the extract air flow in the bathroom and turning the heating up a bit in the bathroom should dry clothes hung over the bath or shower nicely.
Alternatively put an input/extract fan in the bathroom window, close the bathroom door and use that fan to boost the airflow through the room.

We can boost airflow in the whole house - but not on a per room basis.kenneal - lagger wrote: ↑08 Jun 2022, 17:33 Doesn't your ventilation system have a boost for the wet rooms, Vortex? Windows? We aren't allowed windows which open, according to the council.

Re: Ventless heat-pump clothes dryers?
I have a heat pump dryer and though it cost a bomb it works very well. Made by a German company in Poland it is truely a little piece of MittelEuropa down under. What could be a better gift for the pining Remainer?
It does produce heat, consumes no more than 600 watts, not too noisy but produces huge amounts of lint. I could go into the felt hat business.
