And how pray tell might they "screw up"? I fail to see what their worry is. As for Charles 'I would like to be your tampon" Windsor, hahahahha.

You say if they were to screw up they would be overthrown, can you give me an example of what sort of screw up it would take for them to be overthrown and who would do it? From what I see, sit back and rake in the money from land and they are laughing their collective heads off. Possibly though, they genuinely believe they are better than you.

Royalty is anachronistic.

"Charlie" has had one hell of a slating recently for standing up and saying that chemical farming, for instance, is unsustainable. Do you think he does that for the money? He does it because he believes in organic farming and believes it's the way forward for Britain and the world. If he was the shit that some people think he is, he would sit back and party like some of his predecessors have done.

The amount of work, and good, that he does for the Prince's Trust for young people is more than 10 politicians do in a lifetime. This bloke looks for work to do, and it's not work that earns him money personally. OK he is rich and, supposedly, has an easy lifestyle, but he uses that position to try and do good for us all and disadvantaged people throughout the world. The reason politicians don't like him is that he makes their lives awkward by drawing attention to their cock ups in a way that you or I can't. More power to his elbow.

He is human, and may have a kink about Tampax, but how many phone conversations have you had, mocara, that you wouldn't want on the front page of a newspaper. When he makes a statement, it has his true name on it.

Would you rather have President and Mrs Bleh? Now they genuinely do believe they are better than you. How about President Kinnock, or Thatcher even? That's the alternative.

Surely that's what we have got in reality? It was President Bleh who, after all, committed us to joining a senseless and expensive war in the Middle East.

Why waste further precious money on an outdated institution.

I'll have to leave it at that. I'm never going to be able to understand the English's fetish for royalty. No matter how many ways you say it, it boils down to hereditary power and I'll never be able to understand why you would accept that.

It's simple: hereditary power has to behave itself - and even be helpful - in order to survive long term.

Elected power lasts about 5 years. Just enough time to loot anything that's not nailed down, whilst spouting on about" targets".

There is also a 70%-80% chance that people with inherited power are actually quite decent.

Politicians on the other hand are self-selected ... they SEEK power. This which makes them dangerous and often unpleasant people.

Well I don't support the Royal family either - not one bit! I really don't understand why people do but I know I'm not alone in my views so not everyone is in favour. The problem with us Brits is we just accept things too easily, then again, that make us a very tolerant nation. Still I think we should get rid of the whole hereditary process. Just look at Harry Hewitt, sorry, Prince Harry. It makes a mockery of the whole thing.

Keep in mind the $ is going down the pan so the price of oil has to go up just to keep pace. Another reason to price in Euros?
