Mind you, it's not that long ago that here in this country it wasn't seen as necessary for women to compete with men, and were seen pretty much as support for men in whatever sphere they chose to operate, including giving up any job they might happen to have upon marriage.
When at my school in the late 60's and 70's the girls did domestic science whilst the boys did metalwork and woodwork. No boy EVER said he'd rather do domestic science. My kids at school in the 90'sand 00's (2 boys, 1 girl) all took cookery lessons.
I was at school in the mid-80s in progressive Nottinghamshire and did needlework and domestic science and cooking too. Also woodwork, metal work and technical drawing. I liked them all. A refreshing change from all the academic subjects.

Back on topic I understand the Hazara were the majority in Afghanistan in the 1800s being descended of course from Mongols who probably wiped everyone else out but most were butchered by Pashto in some kind of civil war in the late 1800s. It's still going on today i suppose.
