Interesting theory that hydrogen escaping into the atmosphere from pipes and other forms of transportation and storage and, due to its extreme cold storage requirements, venting from storage will have an effect on global warming.
The theory is that hydrogen, while not a warming gas by itself as it is diatomic not triatomic or larger, interferes with the atmospheric destruction of methane which is a warming gas and hence makes methane more potent at warming as methane's lifetime in the atmosphere is extended.

It's all the Law of Unintended Consequences.
Hydrogen may have a lot of niche uses but I do hope it does not get used on a large scale if the findings of the study are confirmed.
