A major gas refinery in Russia has been shut down after an explosion appeared to ignite a fuel line, causing a massive fire.
Footage showed one plant engulfed in huge flames as workers fled the site in a remote region in the country’s far east.
Officials say the blaze has been contained by automatic firefighting systems but has yet to be extinguished.
The plant’s entire gas supply has been turned off in the meantime, with no immediate clarity on the impact to Russia’s ability to supply Europe.

Re: Large explosion shuts down Russian gas refinery
Certainly concerning, but markets seem unaffected. UK natural gas remains very expensive, but no more expensive than before the explosion.
Some reports refer to an accident "during commissioning or testing" That in turn suggests that the plant was not yet in service, and that gas supplies remain unaffected.
At least it was not at Vyborg !

Gazprom is saying that the main equipment at the plant was not damaged, and that gas exports toward China continue in line with requests.
